I’ve been learning Italian for seven years and it’s led to so many adventures. I now share my knowledge with others passionate about learning this beautiful language.
Learning Italiano
I started studying Italian at university. During this time, I also had the opportunity to explore the beautiful country where Italian is spoken.
I spent a year living in Biella, in the north of Italy, teaching English in a liceo (high school) and living with a large Italian family.
Upon my return to Scotland, I quickly found myself an Italian ragazzo (boyfriend), meaning regular trips back to Italy and free Italian lessons for me.
I now share my knowledge of Italian through online teaching, connecting with others looking to enjoy the incredible language and culture Italy has to offer.

I have an MA in French and Italian (with Integrated Year Abroad) from the University of St Andrews.
I spent a year living and working in Italy, hosted by an incredible Italian family wih four young children. Needless to say, chatting to the kids in Italian really helped me progress fast.
I now live in Scotland with my Italian partner. We travel to visit his family, in Lago di Garda, at least twice a year - a great opportunity for me to keep up my speaking practice!

I have seven years experience teaching languages online. I’ve worked with learners from high school through to retirement, in both individual and small group lessons. I always personalise learning to reflect the goals and interests of each student.
I have also taught English as a second language (ESOL), both online and as a British Council Teaching Assistant in an Italian liceo (high school).

By day, I work as a Digital Education Developer and, throughout my career, have built online courses for universities worldwide.
My role allows me to stay up-to-date with the latest digital learning technologies which I like to experiment with during my Italian lessons.
